Just in case you haven’t already met me, I’d like to take a moment to introduce myself. I’m Amber and I cannot wait to meet you and your sweet new baby. Photographing newborns, babies and children has been part of my life for 5+ years now and I absolutely love what I do.

Thank you so much for getting in touch. Investing in a newborn session is a great way to mark the birth of your child, celebrate them and have precious images to hold onto forever. Freeze those sweet moments in time with various choices available for sessions. From colour schemes, props and themes to available collections as well as beautiful products.

I can’t wait to hear all about your choices and photograph your little one in their first few weeks of life.

“Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever... it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.”

The true beauty of the custom photography experience is that when working with me, I do my best to cater to your individual needs and personalise your session. I value each of my clients and spend many hours perfecting the process of offering one of a kind portrait sessions. I love getting to know each of you and take the time to design a custom and personal session that you’ve always dreamt of having. Let's create a session that you envision, with the help from props, clothing, accessories, layers and my assistance to tie it all together. I hope that my art is something you’ll cherish in your home through the years, and your children and grandchildren will enjoy them in the future. I’m a big believer in prints and products and have spent countless hours creating collections that include some of the very best available.

If you are booking a newborn session for your rainbow baby, please do let me know so that I can create something special for you. One rainbow print and digital image will be included complimentary.

I love to incorporate themes within my newborn sessions. From different seasons and holidays to favourite animals or babies nursery theme to match the decor. Anything is possible, and I do my best to personalise something just for you. One of the great things about booking in advance is the time it allows me to prepare and accommodate any request you may have.

CLOTHING MATTERS
Comfort is important, if a child is uncomfortable in their clothing for sibling images it is going to show and they will be less engaged with me and my camera. You want your family images to be a reflection of you, so dress in a way that reflects that, but be mindful of choosing pieces of clothing that are timeless over trendy. Think about how and where you want to display your images, what would look good with the colours in your home? When thinking about outfit choices, consider something that you would want to stare at forever. I’m always here to help if unsure.

 COLOUR PALETTE
Choose 3 colours and use this as your starting place. I love to use the colour wheel to find colours that compliment one another. Once you have your palette, incorporate the colours by using varying solids, layers and patterns. Just be mindful of the patterns, it should coordinate, not take over. Starting off with one outfit and then pulling inspiration from it, such as the colours and style to dress everyone else often works well. Baby will be all wrapped to coordinate so no need to find anything for them. I’ll base my choices around yours.

What is newborn art photography?
It is a specialised form of portraiture, all about capturing those first few days of life and the sweet details of your newborn in an artistic way. I have had specialised newborn photography training to ensure I am handling and posing your babies with care and consideration to safety. My sessions are baby led, I won’t do anything your baby is not comfortable with, due to this no particular pose is ever guaranteed as your baby quite simply might not like or want to get into that position.

Can I wait until my baby is a little older?
The beauty about this type of photography is the way tiny babies curl up into adorable fetal and womb like positions and love to sleep. Once baby gets that bit older, they get stronger and realise that they can and will stretch out of poses and be a lot more alert. Due to this, I advise your session takes place in the first 2-3 weeks of babies life. While you can book a session at a later date, I can’t 100% guarantee specialised newborn poses for a baby over 21 days. It is absolutely possible, but if you’re set on these type of images, be sure to keep this in mind and book early.

What should we have nearby at our newborn session?
I suggest having nappies, wipes, burp cloth as well as formula for feeding prepared if you use this, before the session. If you use a dummy/soother for baby, it is always a good idea to have a spare few on hand, as these can help soothe baby to get comfy and settled into poses. Please also keep in mind the room will be warm, so breathable materials and comfortable clothing for parents is ideal.

Do you bring props with you?
I do carry several props and accessories that include hats, headbands, wraps, outfits, baskets, boxes, little beds and much more. If you’re looking for something in particular, let me know before your session. I usually base my choices on how you answer your questionnaire.

When do we pay?
A £55 retainer is taken upon booking to reserve your due date in my diary. It is ideal if you know which collection you would like to go for before your session, as this helps me know how many setups to prepare in advance. The remainder of your collection is then due the day of your session.

When will we receive our images?
Your online gallery will be ready for viewing within 3 weeks from your session date. This is when you can see all the very best images from our session and choose which you would like to receive with your collection. Prints and products included can then also be selected and ordered, please allow up to 22 working days for delivery. Let me know if you need anything by a certain date.

Can siblings be included?
Absolutely, just let me know beforehand along with the age of your older child, so I can plan for this ahead of time. I love to incorporate siblings and do my very best to get the image you’re dreaming of. I do recommend they then leave the room after being photographed as it is warm and always best for no distractions during the newborn photography process.

Do you photograph parents?
If you would like images with your sweet baby, I can absolutely do this for you. These are included with collection one and two to ensure you are not far too overwhelmed with choices if only going for collection three. These are done at the very start of your session and take approximately 5-15 minutes, which produces around 5 final parent images for you to choose from.
